CSFN creation
2011
The Strategic Committee was created in February 2011 as a result of the Conseil de politique nucléaire. It brings together all players in the nuclear industry: engineering companies, service providers, equipment manufacturers, fuel cycle companies, contractors, subcontractors, trade unions and regional associations of service providers.
Platform "France Nucléaire"
2016
The France Nuclear Platform (PFN) was created in March 2016 and enabled the meeting of the three leaders of French nuclear actors (Areva, CEA and EDF) for the implementation of the decisions taken by the Conseil Politique Nucléaire. This body also facilitiated exchanges between stakeholders on the main transversal topics of the nuclear sector in France.
CSFN Restructuration
2017-2018
In November 2017, Prime Minister recast the National Industry Council (CNI) an strategic industrial sectors. In February 2018, the CNI's executive committee defined an initial list of 17 strategic industry sectors, including the nuclear sector. Following an audit of the nuclear industry, the CNI recommended the establishment of the current CSFN, with a simplified governance.
Strategic contract signature
January 2019
The strategic contract for the nuclear industry was signed in January 2019 with the Minister of Ecological Transition, and the Minister of Economy and Finance. It focuses on 4 axis : employment, skills and training, digital transformation, R&D and ecological transition, and international strategy.
Addendum signature
April 2021
In April 2021, an addendum was signed with the Ministry of Economy & Finance, Ministry delegate to industry and the Ministry of Ecological Transition. This addendum takes into account the COVID crisis and the french economic recovery plan. It with the creation of the University of Nuclear Professions (UMN), developping the competitiveness and the sovereignity of the sector, and strenghtening solidarity with the sector for SMEs and large companies.
